Ajey Nagar, better known as CarryMinati, was born on 12 June 1999 in Faridabad and is an Indian YouTuber, streamer and rapper. He is known for roasting videos, comedy skits and reactions to online topics on his channel CarryMinati, while his second channel, CarryisLive, is devoted to gaming and live streams. With more than 45 million subscribers as of January 2026, he is one of the most-subscribed individual YouTubers in India.

He attended Delhi Public School in Faridabad and dropped out to pursue his YouTube career, skipping his Class XII board examination because he was nervous about passing economics. He later finished his schooling through distance learning. His older brother, Yash, is a music producer and composer who has worked with him as Wily Frenzy. Nagar and his team make videos from his home in Faridabad.

He began posting at the age of 10, with football tutorials on his first channel, STeaLThFeArzZ. His main channel has been active since 2014, when it was called AddictedA1 and carried recorded game footage with his reactions. In 2015 it became CarryDeol, with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gameplay in which he mimicked Sunny Deol, and it was later renamed CarryMinati. In early 2017 he created CarryIsLive for live-streamed gaming. He was the first Indian YouTuber to pass 30 million subscribers, in May 2021, and then 40 million in August 2023, and he currently has the largest subscriber base in the Asia region.

His live streams have raised money for disaster relief, including after the Kerala floods in 2018, Cyclone Fani in Odisha, floods in Assam and Bihar, the 2019 Pulwama attack, the Australian bushfires and COVID-19. On 4 June 2023 he held a four-hour charity stream for the victims of the Odisha train collision, which generated Rs 11,87,611.64, with a personal contribution of Rs 1,50,000, and the funds were donated to the Odisha Chief Minister’s relief fund. In January 2023 he started another channel, CarryMinati Productions Official, for vlogs and behind-the-scenes videos.

He has also moved into music. In January 2019 he released the diss track “Bye PewDiePie”, supporting T-Series in its YouTube rivalry with PewDiePie, which got 22 million views within five months. That year he released “Trigger” with his brother, followed by “Zindagi”, “Warrior” and the diss track “Yalgaar” in 2020, “Vardaan” in 2021 and “Jalwa” in 2023. In 2020 he made the music video “Date Kar Le” with the composers Salim–Sulaiman. “Yalgaar” was the theme song of the 2021 film The Big Bull, and he had a cameo as himself in the 2022 film Runway 34.

He bought a 10 percent stake in the esports firm Big Bang Esports in February 2023, with his business partner Deepak Char. In 2019 Time listed him at number 10 in its Next Generation Leaders, and in April 2020 he was featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia list. In 2021 he was in India Today’s list of the most powerful personalities in India.

His career has included controversy. In May 2020 his roast video “YouTube vs TikTok: The End” was removed by YouTube for violating its terms of service, after complaints of harassment and cyberbullying, including from LGBTQ+ activists over abusive language, and his fans were divided over the decision. In February 2026 a Mumbai court restrained him from posting defamatory content about the filmmaker Karan Johar, who had sued over a video titled “Coffee With Jalan”, according to Wikipedia. Those episodes sit alongside a career that took him from a Faridabad bedroom to one of India’s largest online audiences.
