Kriti Sanon (born 27 July 1990) is an Indian actress, producer and entrepreneur who works mainly in Hindi films. She trained as an engineer and worked as a model before making her debut in 2014. She won the National Film Award for Best Actress for playing a surrogate mother in Mimi (2021). She has also starred in hits such as Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi, Crew and Tere Ishk Mein, and she founded the skincare brand Hyphen.

Early Life and Education
Sanon was born in New Delhi. Her father, Rahul, is a chartered accountant, and her mother, Geeta, is a physics professor at the University of Delhi. Her younger sister, Nupur Sanon, is also an actress. Sanon earned an engineering degree in electronics and telecommunication from the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Noida. She then moved to Mumbai to work as a model.
Career
Sanon made her film debut opposite Mahesh Babu in the Telugu thriller 1: Nenokkadine (2014). Her Hindi debut, Heropanti (2014) with Tiger Shroff, won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She appeared in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale (2015) alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
Critics praised Sanon for the small-town romantic comedy Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017). She followed it with the hits Luka Chuppi (2019) and Housefull 4 (2019). In Mimi (2021) she played a young woman who agrees to be a surrogate mother for a foreign couple who then abandon the arrangement. The role won her the National Film Award for Best Actress, which she shared with Alia Bhatt, and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She also starred in the horror comedy Bhediya (2022).
Sanon played Sita opposite Prabhas in Adipurush (2023). She co-starred with Shahid Kapoor as a humanoid robot in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). She also starred with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu in the heist comedy Crew (2024), alongside Diljit Dosanjh. Through her company, Blue Butterfly Films, she produced the Netflix thriller Do Patti (2024), in which she played twin sisters. She starred opposite Dhanush in Aanand L. Rai’s romance Tere Ishk Mein (2025) and appears in Cocktail 2 (2026).
Business Ventures
Sanon has launched several businesses, including the clothing label Ms. Taken, the fitness company The Tribe and, in 2023, the skincare brand Hyphen, which grew quickly. She produces films through Blue Butterfly Films.
Personal Life
Sanon lives in Mumbai. She is close to her sister, Nupur, and generally keeps her private life out of the public eye.
