Prabhas spent about five years making Rajamouli’s two-part epic Baahubali, playing both Amarendra Baahubali and his son Mahendra. Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) was a surprise success across India and abroad. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) grossed more than ₹1,700 crore worldwide and became the highest-grossing Indian film of its time.
