Yuki Bhambri (born 4 July 1992) is an Indian tennis player from Delhi. In 2009 he won the boys’ singles title at the Australian Open and became the first Indian to be ranked junior world number one. Career
In January 2009, aged 16, he won the Australian Open boys’ singles without dropping a set in the final, the first Indian to win a junior singles title there. He won the Orange Bowl in 2008 and took silver at the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010.
He won bronze medals in singles and doubles at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon. He broke into the top 100 in 2015 and again in 2018, when he reached number 83 and beat the world number 12, Lucas Pouille, at Indian Wells. Recurring tendinitis in both knees then forced him out for more than two years.
Returning in 2021, he chose to concentrate on doubles to protect his knees. He won his first ATP doubles title at Mallorca in 2023 with the South African Lloyd Harris, added titles in Munich and Gstaad in 2024 with the Frenchman Albano Olivetti, and won the Dubai Championships in 2025 with Alexei Popyrin. At the 2025 US Open he and New Zealand’s Michael Venus reached the semi-finals, his best Grand Slam result, and he rose into the world’s top 25. He has become India’s leading doubles player since the retirement of Rohan Bopanna.
Personal Life
Bhambri lives in Delhi. He has spoken openly about the long, uncertain years of rehabilitation and about considering retirement before his comeback.
