Jasprit Bumrah (born 6 December 1993) is an Indian cricketer and one of the best fast bowlers in the world. He is known for his unusual short run-up, hyperextended action and deadly yorkers. Early Life

He developed his skiddy, low-arm action bowling in the family’s home and in local matches, and he played for Gujarat in domestic cricket.
Career
Mumbai Indians signed Bumrah in 2013 after spotting his unusual action. He quickly became a death-overs specialist and won the IPL with them five times. He made his international debut in both ODIs and T20Is on the 2016 tour of Australia and soon became India’s leading limited-overs fast bowler.
Bumrah made his Test debut in South Africa in January 2018. He took five-wicket hauls in South Africa, England, Australia and the West Indies in his first year, and he played a big part in India’s first Test series win in Australia in 2018–19. A back injury kept him out for much of 2022–23.
At the 2024 T20 World Cup Bumrah took 15 wickets at an economy rate just over four and was named Player of the Tournament as India won the title. He took 32 wickets in the 2024–25 Border–Gavaskar series in Australia, the most by an Indian bowler in an overseas series, and captained India in two of those Tests. He won the ICC’s Test Cricketer of the Year and Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for 2024. He became the fastest Indian fast bowler to 200 Test wickets, with an average under 20. In March 2026 he helped India retain the T20 World Cup at home, as India beat New Zealand by 96 runs in the final in Ahmedabad, his home city.
Personal Life
Bumrah married the sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan in March 2021. Their son, Angad, was born in September 2023.
