P V Sindhu and Lakshya Sen both went out in the first round of the Denmark Open Super 750 in Odense on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, according to RevSportz. Sindhu lost to Germany’s Yvonne Li 21-13, 23-25, 19-21 in 65 minutes, and Lakshya lost to Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen 18-21, 21-13, 15-21, according to the report.

Sindhu won the first game by eight points but lost the next two narrowly, 23-25 and 19-21. She led the match by a game and then could not close it out. The total of 156 points in the match, 75 for Sindhu and 81 for Li, are IndiaX24’s sums from the three scores, which show that the German won six more points over the match, though the margin was one or two points in each of the last two games.

Lakshya won the second game 21-13 to level the match and then lost the decider 15-21. RevSportz says that his early exit extended a streak of disappointing early exits. The reports reviewed do not give the details of that streak.

Kidambi Srikanth, ranked 31st in the world, beat France’s Arnaud Merkle 22-20, 21-19 and was due to face the seventh seed Alex Lanier in the second round, according to the report. Tanvi Sharma beat Japan’s Natsuki Nidaira 21-17, 16-21, 21-19 in a three-game match and was due to face Li in the second round.

The later results are known. IndiaX24 has reported that Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand beat the fifth seeds 21-16, 21-17 to reach the quarter-finals, that Tanvi Sharma also advanced, and that Srikanth lost to Lanier in the second round. Tanvi therefore went through against Li, who had beaten Sindhu, according to The Bridge’s headline, although the reports reviewed do not give the score of that match.

Both of the first-round defeats were in three games, so the results were close. Sindhu was within two points in the final game, and Lakshya lost his decider by six.

The Denmark Open is a Super 750 tournament on the BWF World Tour. The reports reviewed do not give the ranking points on offer or the prize money.

India’s men’s results have been poor in the tournament. ETV Bharat headlined Srikanth’s exit as India’s poor run continuing, and The News Mill described India’s men’s losses as continuing, according to their headlines. Satwik-Chirag and Ayush Shetty also lost.

The scores show how tight both matches were. In Sindhu’s match, the second game went to 23-25, which means the game went beyond 21 points and needed a two-point margin, and the third game was decided by two points, 19-21. In Lakshya’s match, the third game was one-sided at 15-21 after the second game went to him 21-13, which suggests that he lost the momentum in the decider. Those readings are IndiaX24’s from the scores, and the reports reviewed do not describe the rallies.

Seen together, the four Indian results of the day were two defeats and two wins. Sindhu and Lakshya, the better-known names, lost, while Srikanth, ranked 31st, and Tanvi Sharma won. The BWF rankings of Sindhu and Lakshya are not given in the report, so IndiaX24 does not say how the results compare with their seedings.

IndiaX24 will report India’s next international badminton results.
