Five new South Indian titles are streaming on Friday, 16 October 2026, according to Esquire India’s list of OTT releases for the day. They are in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu, and are on SonyLIV, ZEE5, SunNXT and Saina Play.

DC is a Tamil revenge drama on SonyLIV, directed by Arun Matheswaran and starring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, according to the list. IndiaX24 covers the film in a separate article, including its acting-debut angle and its box-office run.

Aasha is a Malayalam psychological mystery on ZEE5, directed by Safar Sanal and starring Urvashi, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi, according to Esquire India. A widowed mother suffering from trauma abducts a truck driver whom she suspects in connection with her daughter’s accident.

Kagitham Padavalu is a Telugu romantic drama on SunNXT, directed by MGR Thukaram and starring Vardhan Gurrala and Krishna Priya. Two people from rival villages navigate love amid inherited prejudices and family pressure, according to the list.

Adinaasam Vellapokkam is a Malayalam comedy thriller on Saina Play, directed by AJ Varghese and starring Shine Tom Chacko. Engineering students accidentally steal from a dangerous man who then infiltrates their campus, according to Esquire India.

Oru Anweshanathinte Thudakkam is a Malayalam investigative thriller on SunNXT, directed by MA Nishad and starring Shine Tom Chacko and Vani Viswanath. Investigators search for a missing freelancer and uncover connections to an influential family, according to the list.

The list is a useful snapshot of how regional streaming is split among platforms. Of the five titles, two are on SunNXT, and the other three are on three different services, so four platforms are involved, which is IndiaX24’s own count. The reports reviewed do not say whether the titles are premieres or arrive after a theatrical run, except for DC, which was released in theatres on 7 August.

Malayalam titles make up three of the five, and Shine Tom Chacko appears in two of them, as the lead of the comedy thriller and as a star of the investigative thriller, according to the cast lists. The reports reviewed do not give the running times or the ratings of the films.

Other releases that day include the reality show Roadies Rebirth on Netflix and JioHotstar and Grey’s Anatomy Season 23, according to India TV’s list, and the Hindi film Nayyi Navelli opened in theatres. IndiaX24 covers those in separate articles.

The mix of languages is typical of the streaming market. Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu titles on the same day come from three different industries, and the choice of platforms shows that regional content is spread across services that are not all owned by the same group: SonyLIV, ZEE5, SunNXT and Saina Play. That is IndiaX24’s reading of the list and not a statement in the report.

Kagitham Padavalu and Aasha are the two titles whose casts include well-known names beyond the lead, with Urvashi and Joju George in Aasha, according to the list. The reports reviewed do not say whether any of the five films had a theatrical release before streaming, except DC.

Viewers should check the platforms for availability in their region and for subscription requirements, since the reports reviewed do not give them. IndiaX24 will report on the week’s next OTT releases.
