Raveena Tandon (born 26 October 1972) is an Indian actress who works mainly in Hindi films. One of the most popular heroines of the 1990s, she starred in hits such as Mohra, Dilwale and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, and later turned to serious roles, winning the National Film Award for Best Actress for Daman (2001). She received the Padma Shri in 2023.

Early Life
Raveena is the daughter of the film director Ravi Tandon. Her name combines those of her parents. She was interning with the advertising filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar when she was offered films, and she left college to act.
Career
Her first film, Patthar Ke Phool (1991) opposite Salman Khan, won her the Filmfare Award for New Face of the Year. In 1994 she had a run of hits: Dilwale, Laadla, the comedy Andaz Apna Apna and Mohra, whose songs “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast” and the rain number “Tip Tip Barsa Paani” with Akshay Kumar made her the “Mast Mast girl”. Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Ziddi, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Dulhe Raja followed.
At the end of the decade she chose smaller films: Shool (1999), Kalpana Lajmi’s Daman, in which she played a victim of marital violence, Aks (2001), which won her a Filmfare Special Performance Award, and Satta (2003).
After a long break she returned with Maatr (2017), played the politician Ramika Sen in KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), with Yash, and led the Netflix series Aranyak (2021) and Karmma Calling.
Personal Life
In 1995, as a single woman of 21, she adopted two girls, Pooja and Chhaya, the daughters of a relative who had died. She married the film distributor Anil Thadani in Udaipur in 2004; they have a daughter, Rasha, who made her acting debut in 2025, and a son, Ranbirvardhan. She is active in campaigns for children’s welfare and wildlife protection.
