Neha Kakkar (born 6 June 1988) is an Indian singer and one of the most-streamed female artists in the world. She began as a contestant on Indian Idol in 2006. She became Bollywood’s queen of party songs with hits such as “Second Hand Jawaani”, “Sunny Sunny”, “London Thumakda”, “Aankh Marey” and “Dilbar”. She was the first Indian singer to receive a YouTube Diamond Play Button, and she is a familiar face as a judge on TV singing shows.

Early Life
Neha was born in Rishikesh to a family of modest means. As a small child she sang at religious jagratas with her elder sister Sonu and brother Tony to help support the family. The family later moved to Delhi, where Neha continued performing.
Career
In 2006 Neha took part in the second season of Indian Idol but was eliminated early. She kept working, singing devotional albums and chorus parts. In 2008 she released her debut album, Neha – The Rock Star.
Her breakthrough came with “Second Hand Jawaani” from Cocktail (2012). “Sunny Sunny” (Yaariyan) and “London Thumakda” (Queen) followed in 2014. From 2017 she recorded a string of hits, many of them remakes of older songs with composer Tanishk Bagchi. They include “Aankh Marey”, “Dilbar”, “Garmi” and “O Saki Saki”. The remakes were hugely popular, but they also drew criticism from some original artists.
Neha became one of the most-viewed female artists on YouTube. In January 2021 she became the first Indian singer to receive a YouTube Diamond Award. She returned to Indian Idol as a judge for several seasons and has also judged shows including Superstar Singer.
Personal Life
Neha married Punjabi singer Rohanpreet Singh on 24 October 2020 after the two met while shooting a music video. She is known for her openness with fans on social media.
