Mohun Bagan Super Giant beat Sporting Club Delhi 2-1 in the Indian Super League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Friday, 16 October 2026, after trailing for most of the second half, according to a search summary of the league’s match record. It was their first win of the season after a 1-0 defeat by NorthEast United in the opening match.

SC Delhi went ahead in the 63rd minute through Clarence Savio Fernandes, with an assist from Hudu, according to the match record. Manvir Singh equalised in the 90th minute, assisted by Liston, and Jamie Maclaren scored the winner in the ninth minute of stoppage time, again assisted by Liston, according to the same record.

The late goals can be counted. The equaliser came in the 90th minute and the winner in the 90+9 minute, which means that both of Mohun Bagan’s goals came in the last nine minutes of the match plus the added time, a count by IndiaX24 from the minutes in the summary. The match record also shows a yellow card for Maclaren in the 90+10 minute and a red card for Clarence in the 90+11 minute.

The reports reviewed do not give the reason for the red card, so IndiaX24 does not describe it. Clarence, who had scored his team’s goal, was sent off in stoppage time after the winning goal, according to the record.

The match was billed as a meeting of two winless sides. SC Delhi had lost their opener 3-2 to Bengaluru FC after leading at half-time, and Mohun Bagan had lost 1-0 to NorthEast United after failing to convert several chances, according to the league’s preview. SC Delhi’s manager, Tomasz Tchorz, said before the match that his side knew a lot about the Mohun Bagan players individually and highlighted their tall Scottish striker, according to the preview.

Mohun Bagan’s attacking trio of Lallianzuala Chhangte, Dejan Drazic and Lee Erwin was named by the preview as the main threat. The midfielder Deepak Tangri was suspended for the match. The reports reviewed do not say whether any of the three played a part in the goals, since the summary credits Hudu, Liston and the scorers only.

The result continues a pattern of late drama for the club. Last season’s final-day fixture between the same teams was won 2-1 by Mohun Bagan through an injury-time goal by Jamie Maclaren, according to the preview. The preview’s reference to last season’s final-day win gives context for the result, although it does not say which opponent that match was against.

The turnaround is one of the larger swings of the opening fortnight. SC Delhi were ahead from the 63rd minute until the 90th, which is 27 minutes, a count by IndiaX24 from the two times, and then conceded twice in the space of about 10 minutes of normal and added time. That is a hard way to lose for a side that had also led at half-time in its opener and lost 3-2, according to the preview.

SC Delhi remain without a point after two matches, which is IndiaX24’s reading of the two results. The reports reviewed do not give the league table.

IndiaX24 will report on both clubs’ next matches.
