The Record

Baloda took 8 for 41 in Australia’s second innings. His match figures of 14 for 73 are the best in the history of youth Tests.

How the Last Day Went

Australia began the third day on 86 for 4, still 55 runs behind.

Baloda struck with his first ball of the morning, trapping Zed Hollick leg before wicket. He bowled Charlie Henderson in his next over with a quicker delivery.

Pace bowler Priyanshu Singh took two more wickets at the other end.

Australia’s Resistance

Blake Cattle held the innings together with 63. He protected the tail, reached his half-century with a six over long-off and took Australia into the lead.

India’s captain, Yashbardhan Chauhan, set a spread field to deny him boundaries. Baloda eventually bowled him to end the innings.

A Target of Eleven

India needed 11 runs to win. They got them in five balls.

The Awards

Baloda was named player of the match. Cattle was named player of the series.

Why It Matters

Youth Tests are multi-day matches between national under-19 teams, and a route into senior cricket for many players. A 2-0 series win over Australia, built on a record bowling performance, is a strong result for India’s next generation.
