Confido Health, a healthcare artificial intelligence start-up, has raised $12.5 million in an extended Series A round led by Z47, the firm formerly known as Matrix Partners India, according to DealStreetAsia, Indian Startup News and SiliconIndia. The extension takes the company’s total Series A funding to $22.5 million.

Existing investors Together Fund and Blume Ventures also took part, and the healthcare private equity veteran Justin Saks joined as an investor and board adviser, according to the reports. The company was founded in 2022 by Chetan Reddy and Vichar Shroff and is based in New York, according to the same reports, so it is an Indian-founded company with US headquarters.

Confido builds AI agents that automate routine administrative tasks for healthcare providers. The new money will support its move from AI voice agents for healthcare to an AI-driven operating platform for healthcare practices, according to the search summary of the reports. The platform is called CareOS, and it is designed to automate administrative work beyond patient interactions.

CareOS is integrated with more than 50 existing systems of record, including electronic health record systems, practice management systems, phone systems, billing systems and fax, so that provider groups can adopt it without replacing their existing technology, according to the reports. Healthcare administration in the US depends heavily on such systems, which is general background and not part of the reports.

The company plans to use the funds to expand CareOS across multi-location healthcare organisations and to develop more AI agents for different administrative workflows and medical specialties, according to the reports. The reports reviewed do not give revenue, customer numbers or the valuation of the round.

The numbers give a sense of the stage. An extension of $12.5 million to an earlier Series A of $10 million, which is the difference between $22.5 million and $12.5 million, means that the extension was larger than the original round, a calculation by IndiaX24. The reports reviewed do not give the date of the original round.

The round fits into a month of AI funding in India. Indian AI start-ups raised $438 million in the third quarter of 2026, up 265 per cent, according to Inc42, as IndiaX24 has reported, and Shamrock AI, another start-up with Indian roots building for enterprise AI deployment, raised $5 million this week. Confido sells to US healthcare providers and is not an India-focused business, a distinction the reports make by locating the company in New York.

The product addresses a heavily administrative part of healthcare. Tasks such as scheduling, insurance checks, billing and faxes take up much staff time at clinics, according to general background that the reports reviewed do not quantify. The reports describe Confido’s agents as automating such routine tasks, but they do not give figures for the time or cost saved.

Z47 is an investor that has backed Indian start-ups through its earlier name, Matrix Partners India, according to the reports. The reports reviewed do not describe the other investments by the fund.

IndiaX24 will report on the company’s customer numbers and expansion if they are announced.
