Why They Protested
Reddy said a meeting with Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu had been held a week earlier but the association had not received any concrete assurance. “We have been waiting for seven days after the meeting, but there has been no proper assurance. That is why we decided to protest,” he said.
He said the junior doctors were ready to intensify the agitation in the coming days if the authorities did not respond.
