The DP World India Championship returns to Delhi Golf Club from 15 to 18 October 2026 with a prize fund of $4 million, according to DP World, Golf365 and Olympics.com. The prize fund is the largest ever offered for a DP World Tour event in India, according to the tournament’s description.

The field is headlined by Rory McIlroy, Patrick Reed, Aaron Rai and Ryan Fox, according to The Golf News Net and Golf Magic, and the Golf365 preview says that Tommy Fleetwood is set to star. McIlroy plays the first round in a group with Fleetwood and Robert MacIntyre, according to the tee-time report.

Indian players in the field include Shubhankar Sharma, Anirban Lahiri and Veer Ahlawat, according to the same coverage. IndiaX24 has reported earlier that Indian golfers were preparing to face international stars at the event. The reports reviewed do not give the results of the first round or the scores of the Indian players.

The tournament is the eighth event in the Back 9 phase of the 2026 Race to Dubai, and it has 144 players competing for crucial ranking points ahead of the DP World Tour play-offs and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in November, according to the tournament’s description. The Back 9 phase is the final stretch of the Tour’s season, a general description that the sources do not expand on.

The prize fund can be put in perspective. A fund of $4 million divided among 144 players does not mean equal shares, and the winner’s cheque is a share of the total that the reports reviewed do not give. The reports reviewed do not give the winner’s share or the cut line, so the way the money is paid out is not described here.

The format is four rounds over four days, from Thursday, 15 October to Sunday, 18 October, a count from the dates in the reports, and the Delhi Golf Club is the venue, according to DP World. The reports reviewed do not give the cut line or the par of the course.

A tournament of this size brings a rare chance for Indian golfers to compete against the world’s top players on home soil. The reports reviewed do not say how many Indians are in the field in total, nor what their world rankings are, so IndiaX24 cannot say how many can be expected to make the cut.

Golf365’s preview asks who will star at Delhi, and Olympics.com has published the schedule and broadcast details. IndiaX24 did not open those pages in full and does not repeat their broadcast information.

The date range gives a simple reading of the structure: four rounds from Thursday to Sunday, with the first two rounds deciding who plays the weekend. Golf Magic’s article on the tee times refers to Rounds 1 and 2, which is consistent with a cut after the second round, although the reports reviewed do not state the cut rule.

The prize fund is notable for a second reason. It is described as the largest ever offered for a DP World Tour event in India, which means that earlier editions had smaller purses, but the reports reviewed do not give the previous purse or the winners of earlier editions.

IndiaX24 will report the leaderboard and the performances of the Indian golfers over the weekend.
