The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called a joint meeting of all Indian Premier League stakeholders in Mumbai on 15 October, the Indian Express reported.
The league enters its 20th edition in 2027.
Quick Facts
| Meeting | 15 October 2026, Mumbai |
| Invited | State associations that hosted matches, franchise owners and CEOs, broadcasters |
| Purpose | Review past seasons and plan the 2027 season |
| Milestone | IPL’s 20th edition |
What the BCCI Said
“The meeting is intended to review the issues and learnings from past seasons, address any concerns, and deliberate on the planning and coordination for the 2027 season,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia wrote in a letter seen by the Indian Express.
A Seat for State Associations
For the first time in many years, the board has invited the state associations as well. Previously it consulted only the franchises before a season.
“The State Associations play a central role in the successful staging of the League, and your perspective on matters of hosting, venue operations and match-day co-ordination will be of great value,” the letter said.
A Grand 20th Season
The board plans to mark 20 years of the league on a large scale. A presentation on the plans was made at the BCCI’s annual general meeting in Mumbai last month.
The Impact Player Rule
In the coming weeks the BCCI is also likely to decide the future of the Impact Player rule, which has been criticised by India captains and franchise coaches.
