Airtel Money, part of the Bharti Airtel group controlled by Sunil Mittal and family, began trading on the London Stock Exchange on Friday, 9 October 2026, the Indian Express reported.

The Offer
- 270 million existing shares sold by minority shareholders
- Up to 27 million more shares from Mastercard under an over-allotment option
- Offer size of up to £582 million if the option is used in full, about 11 percent of the share capital
- 2.7 billion shares in issue after admission
Demand was several times the number of shares available.
No New Money for the Company
The offering consists of existing shareholders selling shares. The company is not issuing new shares, so the listing gives sellers liquidity and sets a market valuation, but does not bring in fresh capital in the same way.
Who Owns It
Airtel Africa, which is majority-owned by Bharti Enterprises, held nearly 78 percent of Airtel Money before the offering and has said it intends to remain a long-term shareholder.
What the Company Does
Airtel Money provides mobile-based financial services across African markets. “This is a landmark moment for Airtel Money,” said chief executive Ian Ferrao.
